About Me

I am 34 years old and live in upstate New York with my husband and two children. I love to write, read, cook, entertain, travel, and absorb the world around me. This blog is a family web page, and a place for me to share our adventures with all of you.

Update

I realize I have not written in quite some time. We have been holding true to our daily routine and it does not make for much time for anything else. The kids are both napping right now--a true rarety--so I thought I would take a few minutes to give a quick update on the family. Kevin has been busy working with the DOD, the navy reserves, and now Hawkeye Rental Properties. He is scheduled to close on his second appartment building the beginning of November. We hardly see him anymore, and it makes for caos when he is home. On top of being busy, he will be going to Iowa to visit his family for a week. I have been going to the gym 3-4 mornings a week for 2-3 hours each. I love it! The trainer is really kicking my butt. For example, today I went in and before I said hello, he had me on the treadmill running (yes RUNNING) a mile. Now I have been walking a 20 minute mile, but today I ran (and walked some) a 14 minute mile. It was invigorating! I hated every step while I was on the treadmill, but felt great afterwards. I am also taking a water aerobics class on Wednesdays and that class really gets your heart pumping. By noon on Wednesdays, I am ready to take a long nap! I lift weights 2 times a week and am trying desperately to shrink my abs. I am in my 4th week of the 12 week program. I feel great! Camden is still loving piano lessons and has learned to play two notes at one time, and is currently learning to read music. He is very determined to play beautiful music. Riley is beging to go to dance class, so I have decided to enroll her into a ballet class down the street from us. She is so excited and can't wait to start again. she has been putting on her princess music CD's and demonstrating her ballet techniques...not true to form, but interpretive. Both kids are doing great in school, and we have tried to schedule playdates once or twice throughout the week as well. As a family we have gone apple picking, carved pumpkins, and enjoyed autumn at a harvest festival. The kids truely love Fall. We have been outside collecting leaves, riding bikes, walking, playing baseball and soccer, and of course decorating for Halloween. I am truely enjoying family time with the kids and Kevin when he is available. I will post again soon.
